Hey Scotty, I am going to buy a 2.8l inline 6 1999 BMW Z3 with 75k miles and an automatic transmission. I know you are not a fan of BMW, but what should I look out for in terms of this car (I've heard about coolant line or water pump Failures around this milage)? It seems to have been well maintained, but it's old. It's only $5k. Were the late 90's BMWs better than those of today? Any input at all on this car in particular is appreciated!

I have had a few z3s no major issues except plastic motor hangers on snap. . would do a z4 new body style. And if u want that one check top, dash lights and code history. Oil leaks, but when ac fails, or major parts and service are crazy prices.

I'd offer 3 grand if you want a weekend toy only and only if a mechanic says it's presently in good shape.

You're inviting nothing but trouble. Aging 21-yr.-old EMP. " Only $5,000." Just give it time.
