Hey Scotty! Hope all is well. I asked you the other day about a turbocharged Subaru Legacy but seeing that all that extra pressure may cause the head gaskets to eventually blow, I am now looking at the Subaru Crosstrek. I was also reading up on Subarus production plants and I see that the Legacy is made in Indiana whereas the Crosstrek is actually made in Japan which I figure is a plus for quality. Where I live there is a lot of snow in the winter and I'm also studying to become a geologist so I will sometimes need a vehicle that can do some mild off-roading. I know many people that own these and even at higher mileage they are still running strong. Also I read that they will be putting a new 2.5L naturally aspirated 4 cylinder in the Crosstreks so it will have a little bit more power too (I know to stay away from the 6cyl). I don't intend to drive it hard. I know it won't last as long as a Toyota 4Runner but I can't afford that lol. Can it last a while? My friend has one with the CVT and still running strong at 150k miles only with regular maintenance which is more than I would keep it for anyway. I figure it's better than a Jeep or Nissan or something. Thank you!
