Hey Scotty, have a 2001 Saturn SC2, starts fine in morning when cold, but once get someplace, turn it off, it won't start . Turn the key, clicks, once I turn it back to lock and forth to click a couple times, it will usually start. Sometimes after following the same process, it makes a slight engaging sound, still won't start, turn back to lock, and try again, then it starts? Do you think its the starter? Thanks

either alternator is not working right, or you have a wiring failure, like bad ground wires. Places like auto zone test alternators free., I'd start there

could the battery cables be bad? No headlights and very dim interior lights?

thank you, think I'm going to replace the thermostat too since it does seem like its running hot, thanks for your reply! So I have a question about my 74 olds cutlass supreme. Has a new battery, but lights are dim. Had it on charger all winter too. Charger says its charging but also has green charged indicator on. Checked terminals and there's spark, but ?

replace the starter, they overheat as they bolt onto a hot engine, which when hot, shorts out the starter
