Hey Scotty. After 12 years I got my 1990 5.0L/automatic /fuel injected Eddie Bouer Bronco back from my dad. He rebuilt the engine at 200k and now has 30k on the rebuilt with original transmision. I feel it sluggish when getting on the freeway and accelerating at higher speeds. I know its an older SUV but seems to powerless. Maybe I'm just comparing it to my 05 Lariat 5.4L. I gave it a tune up (plugs, wires, caps, rotor and fuel filter) all OEM. Also fixed a vacuum leak and it idles like a champ now. MAP checked out good hz and fuel pressure good at 33 psi. I took it to the muffler shop to get some exhaust leaks fixed. Guy tested pressure before repairs and said it was borderline out of range. He also noticed a cat without numbers and said they are not illegal and due to the color it's been running rich. All leaks except the exhaust manifold are fixed. Where do I go from here. I have not cleaned the throttle boddy. I'd like to do as much as possible to keep my cost down but I feel I'm gonna have to take it to a shop. Thanks in advance.

Put full flow Cats on, that old they are bound to be clogged. Or take em off in a state like Texas where no emissions are tested when that old.
