Hello Scotty, my name is damir i have a 1990 bonneville sse 3.8 all was well with the car up until 2 days ago i started the car and noticed the oil light was on i turned the car off and checked the level it was full exactly where it should be i then started car again light stayed on for a bit and then went off it was ok for the next day then yesterday august 16 it was ok all day until evening then came on and stayed on i checked the area where the lifters are and didnt see very much oil coming to the top but oil pressure guage shows normal its in the middle i replaced the sending unit last year the same kind you showed in the youtube video, do you think it can be a cloged oil filter or did the oil pump just suddenly go out it is not making rattling noises still sounds smoothe, please advise thank you Damir

if oil pump was bad, engine would be clacking like mad when idling. Since it's not, odds are warning system is just broken . BUT, do put a gauge on it and see what the actual real oil pressure is to find out if a problem exists or not. That old, the warning systems often break
