I have a 99 Nissan Altima. The car has been nothing but reliable to me. I was working on the car the other day doing a oil change. I accidentally grabbed 5w 20 oil without knowing it. ( Stupid botels look the same and I was in a rush) I got high mileage oil and filter. The oil was super teck oil and a Fram oil filter. I used both for all my cars never had a issue.
Here is my question for you. I have a burning smell now. I don't see the filter leaking and the oil level is the same. I tryed using a sheet to see if there was any leaks. None. But when I drive yes. I think it could be my power steering pump or a lose hose? It smells like oil but more dirty. I checked the fluid level on both power steering and oil. Both are the same each time. Same with the coolent. Im assuming it the filter because it only smells when I drive and warm. Cold and running no smell. Cold and driving no smell. Warm and driving makes the smell.
Besides that the car been great there no transmission isses no major issues. Besides the stupid location for the oil filter. I Know you hate Nissan but please show this Nissan some love.
