Hello Scotty and others, I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 3.7L manual transmission. Sometimes when I go to drive the truck at the start of the day, it’s hard to put it in gear. Sometimes I have to put so much pressure but I try to not mess something up. After driving for a bit, it eventually smooths out. What could the issue be?

OK, no Codes for unrelated issues. Could be your synchros not working correctly. Do this first: if not too high a mileage, charge transmission fluid, OEM only, or quality synthetic, e.g. Amsoil or Red Line (I installed Red Line in my manual Toyota because Toyota doesn't make OEM fluid for it). Make SURE you use the correct grade oil. Pray it's just that, otherwise you might have to R&R clutch assembly.

Also bad clutch, or if it's hydraulic may need new slave cylinder, not sure if they are fluid driven.

Transmission could be going out. Scan though, pray it's just a Solenoid. Beyond that, when you omit mileage, guessing beyond that is just eedjiotic.
