Hello, I recently encountered a reoccurring problem when driving my mothers 2011 Honda CR-V EX-L. This evening I came home from dropping somebody off and I took the keys out of the ignition. I gathered my belongings and walked towards my front door where I pushed the lock button on the key fob. The vehicals horn began blairing and would not shut off no matter what I did with the key fob. I unlocked the car manually and then inserted the key into the ignition turned on the accessories and then started the engine. The horn only pitched up so, I shut the engine off and as soon as I took the keys out of the ignition the horn stopped. This car has done similar things in the past in which the horn will go off at random whilest driving or when being entered or exited. It happens somewhat rarely and on a whole has happened about three or four times over the last few years and after receiving a new battery it stopped for nearly a year until this evening. It would be nice to find an answer as I have been unsuccessful so far in finding any. — cheers!

Before you do anything else, get it professionally OBDII scanned, see what pops up. Run Stored Codes too. Post any Trouble Codes right here. Also test fuses & relays-- pray it's just a fuse/relay gone South-- not a ''mystery short'' deep in your dash in some inaccessible place or troubles w/ ECU or other computer or software issue.
