Gidday Scotty
Hope you stay ok.
Love your videos, thanks.

97 Japanese domestic import, Isuzu wizard ucs69, lwb. 4jg2 turbo diesel 4wd. 250k. Bought it 2 1/2 years ago. Fixed a bunch of stuff. It goes ok. Clean exhaust, starts fast.efi pump. all stock standard.

I do a couple of weeks of 1-2 low ratio 5000' full load 60 minute convoy climb, park then descend mountains in mid summer.
sometimes at 35°c (95f) ambient.
Rest of time 50% highway 50 town -5 - 35°c.
Temp gauge sits at 45% untill last ten minutes of hill climb, temp will climb through 60% then I have to turn the AC off and roll down the windows.
Within a couple of minutes it's back down to 50%.
Since then I topped up the viscous fan as I wasn't hearing fan roar.

Head gasket failure prevention.

In the time I've had it,
New Chinese larger single tube radiator (feels like quarter the weight same fin width ) & I'm told it's higher heat transfer to atmosphere than original,
additional larger trans cooler ( in series with radiator ),
W pump, viscous silicone top up, thermostat & antifreeze & regular washing fins.

Should I put a heat gasket sealant in now or carry if it fails?

Will it reduce the coolant system heat transfer performance?

If the sealant is in for say 3 years, Does it loose it's sealing effectiveness ?

If I can't get steel seal here in New Zealand, got any others you tried?

Thanks Scotty, keep on telling it like it is.

head gasket sealers rarely work on diesels, too much pressure. Perhaps find a 2 or 3 row radiator
