Frozen in Toronto

Brakes froze to brake disk while idle in Toronto Ontario

Hello,

I follow your Videos on Youtube and thought I might get an expert opinion on a situation that occurred Dec 28th 2017.

I had brought my car to a car wash in minus 28 degrees Celsius. i drove the Car back to my mothers house and left it for a phew hours, when I went out to drive to the Airport to pick up a friend i disabled the Parking brake and put the car in Drive but I seemed stuck.... I revved the engine to try and see if i was simply frozen in place(in the Ice or snow) to try and brake it free but that did not work. in doing this a Electrical burning smell came in through the vents. I then realized my Brakes were frozen to the Brake disk. so I filled a spray bottle with Windshield Di-Icer washer fluid and that melted the ice allowing the Wheels to spin freely. i drove to the airport and back and even a 4 hour drive the next day back home.

My question is did I damage my engine? or burn out a component?

I drive a Hyundai Tucson 2017 1.6 liter Turbo AWD

saw the whole toronto bay was frozen when watching hockey night in canada here in Texas (I went to university in Toronto, big leafs fan). If engine runs fine now it should be fine. If you have a standard transmmission, the clutch got a little wear on it but if it works now, it's fine.
