Dear Scotty,

I need some serious advice. I’m a disabled fan. I lost a leg and suffered major nerve damage in an accident a few years ago. I am not on disability. Like you, I planned for the future since I was young and now live off my retirement from the money I made. I tell you this only to emphasize that I am on a tight budget.
A couple of weeks ago, a kid ran a stop sign and totaled my 2003 Honda Pilot. I was meticulous about maintenance and it was in top condition. I am seriously considering buying a 2006 Toyota Avalon to replace my beloved Pilot. I know the 2005 and 2006 Avalon had that pesky oil leak with the line running to the valve timing unit and can lead to catastrophic engine failure. Have you come across this issue? If I bought this car, could I book a time for you to replace this oil line with one of the new ones that don’t rupture? What would the labor cost?
Lastly, would you buy anAvalon?

Thank you Scotty.
