Dear Friends and Supporters of On The Road With Scotty I’m about to move to an exciting new phase of expanding car help. I’m inviting a select few of supporters to join as volunteer hosts and contributors for this endeavor. I’m looking for friends passionate about their vehicles to ensure our community plan sets a great tone and culture. The tools are amazing, and for those chosen, provide an opportunity to be part of our global team. We believe it will be fulfilling - and fun! - and you’ll be among the first to see, use and test our new platform. I’m looking for hosts/contributors for the following rooms: Live Car Talks, Car Repair Videos, Cool Tools, Ask Scotty, and Cool Cars. If you want to apply, please send me a one-page summary of your passion and motivation to help in one or more of the above communities, and include your qualifications and perhaps a sample photo, video or written work, if you think it’s helpful. We’re looking for people who care deeply about their vehicles and want to help others. Looking forward to hearing from you! Scotty Kilmer

Hey Scotty! Having some trouble submitting a question on your app. Just thought us send it here.

Where is the best place to get a 2 barrel carburetor for a 1984 Ford Bronco? I don't need anything too crazy.

Thanks for everything you do,

Walt

Hi Scotty, how frequently do you apply UV protectant/detailer for your car’s interior? I saw your video about protecting the outside paint like once every season and had a question for interior. Thank you for everything 🙏

Hello Scotty,

I’m interested in a 2006 Ford F-350 SRW XLT 4x4 6.0 w/ 112k miles. He’s asking $8000. He claims to have replaced: EGR cooler, oil cooler, heads, head gasket and injectors. However, the carfax report is vague and the dealer purged the work history from their records. These trucks have some issues, but once resolved—they can be great trucks. I just one don’t want to buy a dud—I can’t afford it! Please help! Thanks!

Scotty is it a good idea to change differential fluid in a automatic transmission front wheel car? Or is that part of transmission fluid?

Hey Scotty, I recently purchased a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with 140k miles automatic transmission. Was thinking about putting a cold Air-intake on it and drilled rotors. Is that something that you recommend doing? And was also thinking about lowering it with lowering springs. Is it bad/good for the car? Thanks

Good afternoon Scotty hope your havin an awesome day. I have a question for you in regards to Ethanol Free gasoline but is it really true that it makes any car run better compared to gas with ethanol? For instance let's say I went to Harris Teeter and I selected to put in ethanol free gas into my 2001 Honda Civic LX would it make it run better and have improved gas mileage or is it a scam?

Sir Scotty, Wish you could show us how to check if the car's odometer has been rolled back. I've been searching here for used cars planning on buying one in the near future. But the odometer in the cars I'm seeing are less than 100miles but the cars are already 10years old or more. Is that something to worry about? cause if it is then I won't have to go where the car is and waste my time for it. I'm from the Philippines and I always watch your videos since you taught me a lot about cars.

Hey Scotty put this in your video I want to advise everyone NOT to buy a Nissan. There quality is down to the S***s. In 2011 I bought myself a Nissan Maxima brand new and the right left door always had problems with the latch. No matter how hard I would shut it the light always came on inside as if the car wasn’t latched. Also the door was very hard to open from factory than all the other doors. And when you get the door open it would open all most to the fender mind you this car only had 3000 miles on it. I took it to the Nissan dealer they claim they put a new door latch system. At 9000 miles it failed again. I kept driving the car with a broken latch. Just 3 weeks ago the car now has 128000 miles I was going maybe 35 mph the right door just fell off the car. I paid 25000$ for this car also the transmission is going off. Scotty I need your help should I go junk it for a New Toyota Camry

Hey Scotty, We have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe LS 5.3 flex fuel 4wd automatic with 117k miles. When we bought it it had 98k miles. It was a retired police car used by the cheif (we know this because we talked to the chief from where it was used) and on the air filter box it said 0w-20 Aimsoil. Should I use that or stick with what I have been using 5w-30 high milage castrol. Also any know issues with the GM 5.3 from back then. Thanks!

Hi Scotty, today I’ve realized that my AC went down. It’s a Honda Pilot 2010 with 110000 miles on it .I plugged my OBD2 BlueDriver and the code B1239 came on. Could it be just the relay ? How do I tackle this issue. Thank you

Hi Scotty , I’ve heard the Honda’s reliability is going down due to an oil dilution problem. The latest article from Consumer Reports Honda’s reliability’s gone down overall because of this issue. When the engine oil level reads above the full mark on the dipstick- the manufacturer says that’s ok. What is your take on this issue ? Thanks

Hello. I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber sxt 2.0 engine with 200 thousand miles and it has a rough idle. I have recently replaced the spark plugs, coils, and the throttle body. Still having the same problem. I noticed oil in the 2nd cylinder while replacing the spark plugs. Could a blown head gasket be the source of my problem. Or what else should I be looking at.

I‘ve decided to buy a new car this winter, replacing a Nissan Rogue. I’ve read about issues with the 8 speed Toyota transmission. Should I avoid all cars with that transmission? After 3 transmission replacements in 90,000 miles for the rogue, I’m transmissioned out. Thanks.

Hey scotty. I've been watching your channel for a while like the information you provide. I have a 2003 Silverado 1500 4.3l with a 4l60e automatic transmission 130xxx miles. I change the fluids regularly and maintain the truck very well. It just developed a rattle on the passenger side, around where the bell housing is in the trans, I've climbed under the truck to check the heat shield they're all tight as well as for any bolts I dont see any. It only does it in low rpm with light acceleration, as well as sometimes when cruising with light acceleration. Any idea on what it could be. Any advice is better then none. Thanks,

Cory
