Engine Timing when removing crank shaft with cheater bar

Hello Scotty,

Thank you for all the help you offer to make things easier for others.

I like your trick breaking the crank shaft bolt with the cheater bar.

You went to remove the pulley and you did not mention about the engine timing. When using that trick, is it not necessary to time

the engine before removing the pulley? I am about ready to pull the oil pump off my 2004 volvo v70xc and wanted to make sure that

the timing will not be off before I put that trick to good use. I have seen videos where using a counter hold to break the bolt,

requires that you line up the timing belt marks.

Thanks for the answer.

Scott,
Thanks for the answer. The Volvo was my question, I don’t know anything about the Honda.

please only ask new questions in your own question, try not to piggyback them on others. as for the honda alignment, yea, it's way off, something like bent subframe or strut, any decent alignment guy can fix that. And as for the volvo, if you just use a cheater bar to loosen the nut, that does not effect timing

Hello good afternoon scotty I would like to know if you can help me. I have a Honda Civic 2006 and it has a misaligned tire and I have already taken it to the alignment workshop and they do not know what to do. Now change the piece above one that looks like letter s. Thank you
