Before you retire, I would really appreciate your help. I have a 1999 Mercury Sable w a 24 ohv engine and AX4N TRANNY WHICH IS SUPOOSED TO BE THE BETTER ONE! that I bought off a little old lady that couldn't drive anymore. I bought it at 80k. I put front end work and struts into it as well as tires and brakes. The car ran like a dream. 2 years ago , I had the tranny fluid changed because I thought it was the right thing to do. Yes, it was past 50k but the fluid looked ok. A short while after that , I noticed what what i found out later on was sometimed the car didn't know what gear it was in. I learned later its called "shudder". I took it to a guy like you right down the road from me and he drained 10 ounces of tranny fluid and put in lube guard for MERKON. took it for a ride and asked me to take it for a ride. What do you think he said? not sure because in your head you would like to think the shudder would go away. Anyway, car still runs super with exception of slight shudder and now I get " SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light. I have a CODE READER and got the P1744 code. OMG so upset because I maintain my cars. I just went out and purchased a warranty. Should i get it fixed even though the car runs great with that exception or should I take advantage of the warranty I purchased. Car now has 97000 on it. I have 3 Sables, 1 Taurus and one 02 Ranger w 45k. Help me Anyone
