Hello Scotty, I live in central Africa, Chad and it is a pain in the butt to get car parts. I use an FX3.5 infiniti with vin: JNRAS08U55X103130 that has a blown ECU, I bought it without that and fix another one in it but some of them do no accelerate, others do but cannot go over 40Mph, some make the engine hesitate and some others do not even start the car; I notice they always bring different part numbers ones which is not correct, COuld you use my VIN to find me the right part number and how I could buy it through your amazon garage or website? I am a huge Fan

Hey Scotty, Wanted to ask what could be the issue with my 2012 Mazda CX-9 Touring edition. It started recently to shake slightly (a little shimmy) when gaining speed (usually starts around 30-35mph @ 3-4th gear, then goes away just as quickly after a gain of about 5miles speed or so.) if I hit the gas, it powers through. Usually happens when I start moving after a full stop. If I am moving and slow down then speed up again, things tend to be smooth again, most times.

Is this a transmission issue or? What would you recommend I do? Thank you.

Hi

Sir i have prius 2009 model. It has reached 176000 km. I got its spark plugs changed 6 months back and it was giving 16.7-16.8 consisitant mileage since then. Until i had to send it to workshop for some maintenance work on drive shaft( as car was giving so much noise specially when turning steering) and rack in rack/ pinion steering work.

Since then, it’s mileage is dropping on a daily basis.... from 16.7 it dropped drastically to 13 and then to 12... then 11.8 and now it’s 11.3 today. All this drastic change is continuous and is in days. Yesterday it was 11.8 and today it’s showing 11.3.

My car is also consuming mobil oil now. With no leakage at all, k even got it’s relevant gaskits changed too.

But i am a layman and mechanic is not giving me any reasonable answer.

Can you please look into this matter and advise me, how to get the real problem diagnosed and taken care of?

Looking forward to your positive response .

Regards

Hey scotty i have a 2001 f250 with the 5.4 and 4r100. Even though it's been running for years while driving down streets with walls I can hear the echo of what sounds like a mountain bike coasting along after peddling fast. Is it the tranny?

Scotty, would you buy a certified pre owned Aston Martin with an unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty? Doug Demuro says that you can get one with such a warranty, and it paid for most of the work done on the Used V8 Vantage that he got. Dont worry, I wont get one for my first car, as it's going to be really difficult to get it insured.

I have a 2004 mustang gt with only 90k miles great condition but im having a idling problem. I replaced Throttle-body, MAF, IAC, EGR, Coils, Splugs, all new vacuum lines and clamped to rule out leaks, Think it might be electrical its now is spring so when i crank blowmotor up idle goes wacko ( even with AC off) Goes from 800rpm to 1250rpm slowly drops to 800 then jumps back up to 1250 and repeats. Car only requires a 550cca battery but I ran a 900cca truck battery to test but still does it.Ideas?

Hi Scotty I bought a 2005 Mazda 6 wagon a year ago for 2600 ever since I’ve been having to repair something on the car. There’s a laundry list and I’m tired of putting money into it. I’ve put about 600 to 700 dollars into it. Is it time to sell or just junk it?

Hi Scotty I have a 2013 mazda 3 6 speed manual that has a shaking issue only at 2100 RPMS it only shakes bad when at a stand still but i can still feel the engine is rough when driving. It does get a little better when driving around after a while but whem in gear going down a hill I get a lot of vibration. My mechanic said it could be a weight issue but said to live with it. Not my style to do so and would love a solution to this problem! Thanks Jesse

I have heard that some insurance companies like Geico offer mechanical breakdown insurance, which covers the cost of replacing a transmission, engine, or fixing electronic issues. The only thing is that the deductible is $250. What are your thoughts, is this a scam?

Hi Scotty, I recently bought a 2005 Scion tC with only 89k on it and am now at 93k. There’s only been one other owner and it’s been maintained. The engine is making a metallic type clacking noise at idle. Is this worn out rod bearings or lifters or just typical noisy Toyota?

Hey Scotty, I love the channel! I am looking at buying a 2004 Toyota Matrix (manual trans) for $5K. It has just under 72K miles. The Carfax (I paid ) is clean but there are no records after 2015 when it was sold at auction. The guy I spoke with at the dealership said his dad (who owns the dealership) drove it a bit until they decided too sell it. It looks like there was 4K miles put on it during that time. Any other reasons a car would drop off the radar like that? Any particular issues to look for in that model year Matrix? Thanks and keep the videos coming!

HELP! Hi Scotty, I have a '04 Toyota Camry with 150K miles. Recently it is shifting hard from 1st to 2nd gear its starts slow, slight pause and then it kicks into 2nd and then all is normal. I took it to my mechanic and they replaced not 1 or 2 but 3 transmissions but it did not fix the problem. He said it might be the computer and that he did not have the diagnostic tools the dealer would. Took it to the Toyota dealership they had it for 1 week: they checked the computer, the cables from the engine to the computer and from the computer to the engine - Nothing. now they are saying to replace the Transmission at a quote or $4400. I can not believe that if they replace the transmission they will have any better luck than my non Toyota (but good) mechanic. The code they get is P0776. Please HELP!

Howdy, Scotty. I'm in the market for a 4-door. My current options are an early-2000s Ford Escape, late-90s Ford Explorer, early-2000s Honda CR-V or early-2000s Mazda Tribute.

Your thoughts? Which ones have you seen to be reliable & which ones have you seen to be complete garbage? They all have between 100-120k miles & are within the $1.9-$2.5 grand range.

Hello Scotty! Huge fan from Tajikistan. I own a 2008 Lexus GS350. I found out it was salvaged in California before being shipped to Tajikistan. I have doubts about the chassis integrity and rigidity. The moonroof, the windshield and the dashboard squeak on irregular bumps, and the thing feels like soap dish when cornering. I have changed the entire suspension, so it's not that. The frame appears to be intact, except for minor frame-body beam-body wield cracks in the very front. The car has been fully repainted before I bought it. How do I check the body for integrity? We have no specialists for that down here.

Hey Scotty, love your videos...learn a lot. I've inherited a 2012 Altima with 62k. It has the CVT transmission as you know, but this will be my first experience with this type of tranny...I've mostly had manuals. I've heard the CVT's aren't that robust, what can I do to get the most life out of the CVT? This is a major upgrade from my last car, especially the AC (I live in FL), so I want to take good care of it. Thanks

Hey Scotty! I have a 1993 YZ250 2 stroke dirt bike. Although I realize you’re an automotive Technician like me, and not a motorcycle mechanic, I have a question about fuel. My factory owners manual says the bike requires 95 octane. The highest octane fuel I can get in California is 91 (E10). Should I switch to race gas (or a mix of race gas and pump gas), or do octane boosters really work? Thanks.

Good day, Scotty

I’m really enjoy your honesty and devotion to helping others. I am a subscriber and watch your YouTube Channel religiously. Thank you for all you do!

My question is: My Mustang only has 8900 miles on it and I noticed a ‘ticking’ sound at idle (most notably when close to a wall, like at a drive-through). Seems to be just on the drivers side. What do you think it could be?

You are appreciated.

I have a 2001 saturn l300 120,000 miles. In order to start, I have to disconnect the battery, for a minute, and then start the car within 10 secs of reconnecting the battery. Not very fun to do in Ohio winter... I don't want to put a lot of money into it, but its a good car other than this qwerk. Wondering if you have ever come across this before? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
