Corolla vs Prius! Hey Scotty, I'm trying to decide which awesome Toyota to keep, because one has to go. First, there's a 2003 Corolla, automatic with only 69,000 miles. I inherited it from my mother, and I was with her when she bought it brand new, so it has lots of sentimental value. In the last three years I've put on new struts, springs, tires and brakes all around, plus a good stereo and alarm with remote start. The car is in excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically. Next is a 2006 Prius that I recently bought on a whim because it was priced cheap due to a very expensive repair it needed - an ABS actuator which is actually part of the hybrid system. I got a great deal on a brand new OEM ABS actuator and will be getting it installed soon. I put in a new windshield, and will get the car detailed. It's a one-owner car with 157,000 miles. I find it a blast to drive, and it has more room than the Corolla while being even more fuel efficient. And it's got the practical hatchback design. I hear the second generation Prius was over-engineered and is super reliable, which is why so many are used as taxis.

Logic tells me to keep the Corolla, because I've known this car since it was new, and it's in perfect condition, not to mention the sentimental value. But... I prefer driving the Prius, saving even more money on gas and it's more roomy (mid size vs compact) and it's got the handy hatchback design. But, it's got 157,000 miles and being 12 years old, it's just a matter of time before the hybrid battery will need replacing, which is not cheap, but if I do replace it, then the car should be good for a very long time. If you had to choose, which car would you keep? Which do you think will last longer? Thanks! Peter D.

hi scotty!! someone STOLE the keys to my 1990 RAINBOW dodge caravan. this has left me heartbroken and without a way to get around. i was thinking about possibly installing some kind of switch or button that would turn my starter, but that resets back to a resting position so the starter doesn't receive power after the engine is engaged. i would love your advice or a demonstration video on how to do this efficiently, safely, and effectively! please let me know! also my email is stracener9@gmail.com

I have a Chevy aveo and on the way to work at 630 am while driving the check engine light came on and was flashing. When it ss. tarted flashing the motor sounded instantly week it sounded like it was struggling. But the funny thing is that it wasn't week. The RPMS were more than normal while driving and it was shifting and sounding really rough. Right now I am waiting to finish work to go orileys to get scan on what the code is. Until then I was wondering do you have any idea of what it can be so i can have an idea? That is a major question i need answered ASAP please thanks
