Hey Scotty, I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L that has Variable Valve Timing. It has been leaking oil a little bit around the engine and on the Variable Valve Timing Solenoid/Actuator, I believe it is called. The Honda part number for this part is 15810RKBJ01, just so you know for sure this is the part that has some oil on it. The part is around $400 and that is what a mechanic is claiming needs to be replaced to stop the oil leaks along with the valve cover gaskets for the engine. Generally, do you recommend people replace this whole expensive part? I just wanna be for sure this mechanic is not trying to rip me off by having me buy this expensive part. Thanks!

I would remove that part and FIRST only change the oil seal on that part. Often it's just the rubber oil seal that leaks on that part. Good luck
