Hi! Looking to purchase from a private seller a 2008 Lexus RX400H (hybrid) with 140k miles - timing belt, spark, radiator has been replaces within the past 2 years. The price is great ($4500). A mechanic did an inspection and said all is fine. What are your thoughts on this? I am scared this car may need expensive replacement down the road considering is a hybrid (I am fine having to spend 1-2 grand on it, but I do not want to have to spend more) and I am also worried it may already have some issue that do not come up with a regular inspection.

The only hybrid I recommend is a Prius. The cost verses gas savings are not a good value when others get high miles, even lexus.

Thanks for answering . Yes, I see. I would actually use this car just 1 or 2 times per week. I'd get it just cause seems to be a good deal at $4500 compared to what I would otherwise find for that price. Do you think it may give me many issues even if I use it that little?

Would a 2006 Acura MDX with 118k miles be a better deal, for $5000?
