- Hi scotty my 2006 subaru forester makes a weird buzzing clicking noise underneath the car where the transmission pan is. When i turn the key in the ignition to prime the fuel pump before actually starting the engine it makes 2 or 3 buzzy clicks like the sound that im hearing underneath the car. then when i turn the car over and its running it seems like it almost dies kind of for a second then it revs up to 1000 rpm and is fine after that . when the car is on it sounds normal in park but in reverse,drive,1,2,or 3rd gear it makes a constant buzzing electric clicking kind of sound. with the shifter in 1st gear the sound gets a little louder and more buzzy sounding then in the other gears its not as loud, and can only really be heard outside of the car not inside. The car drives fine and is well taken care of,and shifts gears perfectly and has clean tranny fluid and all, what could this be? A bad solenoid? If so how long can i drive withoit more damage done to the car or is the sound normal, please help me scotty thank you!!!!
How long do you think i can drive the car for before more damage or before i cant drive at all. And what could be rotten in there? You dont think its just a stuck solenoid or something?
soething is rotten inside the tranny, and those trannys stink big time. If it shifts OK now, live with it. It costs so much to rebuild those weak trannys when they go out, most guys junk em.
