2005 Ford F-150 I have a 2005 Ford F-150 lariat with a 5.4 2wd with a 4R75W Transmission. I just recently did a complete timing chain over haul and while I had the access and I replaced the oil pump as well. Now my transmission is acting up I can only drive it with the Overdrive off I was thinking of having it rebuilt or replaced, My older brother has a 2005 Ford F-250 5.4 with a 5R110 2wd as well, that he had it install about 4 months ago he’s giving it to me because his truck got totaled. I’ve looked everywhere online for information telling me I can or can’t use it I even went to a local Ford dealer and they didn’t give me much info either. I’d hate to do all that work and not have it work properly or not at all. Scotty can I use it or not?

You're right to question compatibility. Understand your frustration-- I called and called, then visited, Onan Cummins, and their Tech guys were utterly unable to even tell me if my generator had an oil pressure (or level) cutoff switch. Half of them said "Yes," the other 2/3 said "No." I'll tell you where to get the definitive info down to the nth-degree. Find the best (most active) online F-150 owner Forum. After you join (if not already a member) they let you post your own Threads. Until then you're limited to researching Old Threads. There are enthusiasts in my RAV4 World Forum that have gutted their rides and know details, mods, Specs., down to infinitesimal, mind-blowing levels. Can't live w/out my R4W Forum. Join, ask, you'd be amazed how quickly someone(s) step up to the plate to tell you to go for it or that they're not compatible. Here's one example:
