I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L (non-flex fuel) Extended cab with 170,000 miles and new battery.
I was driving my truck approximately 50 MPH when the engine started running rough then stalled. I wasn’t able to start it.
Every looks normal at the cluster with the key in the On position until I try to start the truck. The engine tries to start but immediately dies... then: (see video)
It’s almost like the truck is “stuck” in some kind of start-up loop. If I try to start it again at this point shown in the video, the cluster goes black. The noise under the hood is what is happening at the same time as the clusters is doing its thing. I've tried the following:
- Checked all the fuses and none are blown.
- Cleaned the electrical connections in the fuse boxes with non-conductive electronic spray.
- Tried the passlock key relearn sequence 10 minutes on, 10 seconds off (x3) with no success
I’m kind of at a loss.. could it be the BCM or PCM?
Thanks for any insight you can share, Scotty.
