2003 Malibu. Car has a irregular thumping from the front when I turn sharply, like if I drive in a parking lot or turn off of a road onto a side road. Noticed it's also pulling to the driver side. I let my hands off the wheel going down a straight road and the steering wheel immediately rotates to the drivers side a small bit. It doesn't feel like a constant pull when I'm actively steering but when I let my hands off it naturally starts to meander to the drivers side very apparently. It's already towed to my mechanic and he'll look at it as soon as he's in but I was just wondering what could it be. Looked up several "If this part is bad is sounds like this:" videos but none of them so far have accurately depicted what it does. If it's of any help prior to this noise we had 6" of snow and I drove through a small bit of it because the driveway wasn't plowed and it's recently cold where I live (20 degrees during the day if we're lucky, up to 10 below at night). Doubt it could be snow and ice though, it sounded nerve-racking and snow on the rims don't pull the steering, they would cause a shudder in the steering which there is none. So, if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them. Again, mechanic is looking at it but I'm confused and pondering just what it could be so any ideas would give me an idea of what I'm looking at. Thanks!

Update: Turns out it was a combination of a worn out strut bracket-thing AND the spring around the strut snapped. The thud I was hearing was the bracket and it was pulling to the drivers side because the spring was not keeping the weight of the vehicle off that side enough. Definitely threw my mechanic for a little bit of a loop diagnosing it on the road before he work on it haha! Just got it back and it doesn't pull and rides smoooooth. Glad to have my car back that's for sure.
