2000 Toyota Camry Engine Problem

Engine runs rough after exhausting the fuel one time

Hi Scotty,

I have a 2000 camry 4 cylinder with 148000 miles on it. It was parked in the garage for 3 month with about 3/5 tank of gas. The other day I started the car(had to jump start it, battery drained) and it runs fine. I drove it for about 250 miles and used up the gas that left in the tank. The car stopped by itself when gas was exhausted. Before it come to a stop, I felt it ran a little rough. Then I refilled the gas and cranked the engine a few time but could not start the car. At first I thought it maybe the fuel pump, but checked the fuel pressure which turns out to be normal. After parked overnight on the drive way, I could start the car, but it runs very rough, could not drive it. Now when it idles, it sounds like shown in the video.

There is an engine code generated P0300 random missfire. I took off the spark plug to check and they seemed functional, but did see a little engine oil at the thread of each spark plugs.

What could be the problem? I checked the engine oil condition, it was in good condition and close to full mark. I also do oil change every 3000-4000 miles. The timing belt was changed at around 100000miles.

Thanks,

Hi Scotty,

Thanks for the reply. The car can start. Will the blown head gasket making the knocking noise as I showed in my video? Some people said it is the bearing of the crank shaft that is making the noise, how to confirm that with out removing the engine from the car?

pray the head gasket is not blown. Try this video and pray it's one of those problems
