Balkans Teaser

There's more to come, but here's video of a ride on day one from Lake Ohrid to Gjirokaster, Albania. Nice road, huh!?

I just got back from a two-week trip in the Balkans and am just starting to sort through the hundreds of photos and couple of hours of video I took along the way. We flew into Skopje, Macedonia by way of Istanbul, picked the rental bikes up in Lake Ohrid, Macedonia, then rode through Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia.

Favorite parts were the ride up the Albanian coast, the ride through Tara Canyon in Montenegro, and the last full day seeing Belgrade, Serbia. More to come, but here are a few photos.

Road through Tara Canyon, Montenegro. Fantastic scenery, twisties, and coolest weather of the trip.

And the use of copious amounts of asphalt seems to be lost on this part of the world. Hard packed dirt and less asphalt is just fine!

It would appear that much of the rest of the world might think two lanes is one too many.
