Now they've gone and done it again with the just introduced newly set up Bonneville Speedmaster. Think Bobber with more refined long distance characteristics. A Triumph you could actually lay down some miles with, and you don't need to shell out the extras to buy the Thunderbird.
With a clean flowing line and a bit of nostalgia in the bars, gators and carb looking injection system, there's no way you wouldn't feel like you're both riding in the past and present on this bike.
Here are some stats:
o Peak torque of 78 ft-lb at 4,000rpm from the Bobber-tuned engine, plus peak power output of 77Hp at 6,100rpm
o A twin air box with twin filters and hidden cat box
o Full LED headlight with daytime running light pattern
o State of the art ride-by-wire offering two riding modes (Road and Rain)
o Latest generation ABS and switchable traction control
o Torque assist clutch and single-button cruise control
Triumph will also offer two accessories kits for further personalization. The 'Highway Kit' gets a full set of soft-luggage panniers while the 'Maverick Kit' includes a single seat and raked out bars for a more laid-back look.
For those who want to take a crack and creating their own kitted out Speedmaster, Triumph will also offer over 130 custom parts, which include a Vance & Hines exhaust, adjustable touring screens, and highway pegs.
The company didn't release availability or pricing, but if the current list of $11,500 for a Triumph T120 is any gage, we expect the Speedmaster to not be too far off.
